An update for The Farmer’s Office and The Labor Contractor’s Office is now available for Oregon employers. It includes a new option to print the Transit Tax quarterly reports and generate the electronic file containing the employee detail information.
This update is only needed only for non-agricultural employees that must report the transit tax on a quarterly basis. Agricultural employers will report the transit tax as a part of the annual reporting process. The 2018 Year End Update will include the option to generate the annual report.
Use the Tools->Check for Updates option to download the update.
You will find the option to print the report on Payroll->Quarterly Tax Reports sub menu.
The OR-STT-1 form is printed and filled out by the program. Check the Print Detail (OR-STT-2) box to also print the employee detail form.
If you have made any deposits for the transit tax for your third quarter payroll, make sure you enter them in the Line 4 entry. The program will subtract those payments from the total tax due.
The contact information on the OR-STT-1 will be taken from the Electronic Reporting contact. To edit this information go to Tools->Program Setup->Payroll->Magnetic Media.
The OTT-1 form also has a space to report your county. An entry for this has been added to the state tax rate file on the Local Tax Settings tab page in the Transit Tax section:
To create an Excel file listing the employees, their wages, and transit tax amounts withheld, enter the path and filename to save the information to in the Excel Filename entry. This file can then be uploaded to the Oregon Department of Revenue web site.
If you have any questions about using the new report, please contact our support department.
Update 10/30/18: A bug has been fixed that incorrectly calculated the total liability per month on the OR-STT-1. An update is now available via Check for Updates that includes this fix.
