California 1095-C Electronic Reporting
We will soon post another update with changes for California electronic reporting. Only employers with self-insured plans will need to submit a file, and only for employees that were enrolled in coverage and are residents of California. The deadline for submitting electronic 1095-C data to the state of California is March 31.
California SB 973
There will also be an update later in March for the California SB 973 pay data reporting due on March 31. This is the “copy” of the federal EEO-1 Component 2 reporting requirement that was postponed indefinitely by the federal government, then reinstated by a court. The EEOC has apparently not sought to continue collection of the component 2 data, but California is requiring the information to be submitted.
While the same information is being reported to California, the layout of the electronic file is different than the federal electronic file. This will require a program update to put the data in the format that California requires.
