New feature available for creating “other” non-productive time entries in Daily Payroll. Go to Tools > Check for Updates to make sure you are running the latest version of the program.
New Feature
Datatech Software now has the ability to include “other” non-productive time while entering piecework payroll. “Other” non-productive time includes employer-controlled activities such as,
- waiting for equipment,
- scanning badges,
- moving between fields,
- or any time they are under the employers control where they are not able to be productive.
These entries can now be recorded alongside piecework and rest & recovery time in a single workflow. This simplifies California piece-rate payroll processing while helping support compliance with state pay requirements.
We covered this new feature in our recent webinar: Payroll Compliance Checkup. (Starting at 18:27 min)

“Other non-productive time” is any time they are under the employers control, exclusive of rest and recovery periods, that is not directly related to the activity being compensated on a piece-rate basis.
