FRESNO, California – Datatech would like to share with Human Resources professionals in agriculture who’d like to enhance their skills in recruiting, retention, information and cost analysis, that they can grow their skills in Ag HR certificate programs scheduled in two state locations for the first week in August.
The Agriculture Personnel Management Association is sponsoring two certificate programs taught by experienced HR professionals in Bakersfield and St. Helena in northern California. The classes, “Human Resource Professional in Agriculture (HRPA) 107: Information and Cost Analysis in Human Resource Management and “Human Resource Professional in Agriculture” 103: Effective Recruitment, Selection & Retention are scheduled for August 1 and 2 next week.
Class number ‘107’ for Human Resource Management (HRM) professionals will cover topics frequently asked by CEOs and CFOs for data that analyzes and determines the resources and costs of various actual or planned HR activities. This course emphasizes methodology and a theoretical human resource information system (HRIS) data base to deal with the “how many” and “how much” questions HRM professionals may have to answer through quantitative analysis and report generation. Participants also spend time learning to interpret and apply basic accounting reports to the HR function. Topics are influenced by student issues and may include: Compensation; Benefits; Benchmarking; Budget planning and staffing; Turnover and absenteeism; Applied technologies for performance enhancement.
Class number ‘103’ will address HR pros challenges to finding the right employees to fit an organization’s needs. This course examines concepts essential for effective staff recruitment, selection, and retention. Students also examine the diverse ways organizations view employees, and what organizational practices are effective to retain quality staff.

- Job descriptions
- Assessment, including interviewing, testing, and background investigations
- Legal requirements
- Employee orientation
- Outplacement of staffing needs
- Staffing accountability
- Retention strategies
- Diversity in the workplace.
